Speak, Dr. Perrone: "Plastic surgery aims to reconstitute a part of the human body for medical or aesthetic reasons.

Plastic surgery develops under two facets: reconstructive plastic surgery and aesthetic plastic surgery.

Reconstructive plastic surgery aims to correct deforming injuries, congenital or acquired defects. It is considered as necessary as any other surgical intervention.

Aesthetic plastic surgery is surgery performed by the patient with the aim of improving their appearance. When a person undergoes such surgical intervention, it is not done with the intention or purpose of obtaining some improvement in their state of health, but rather to improve some physical aspect that they do not like, that is, to correct a deformity that they acquired at birth due to example, such as a prominent or protruding ear, another case such as a sagging breast that can make an emotional relationship difficult. Situations that do not cause functional impairment, but rather psychological impairment. Currently, the two most commonly performed aesthetic plastic surgeries in Brazil are liposuction and the implantation of silicone prostheses in the breasts."
